Anna S once said "Spike is a little black dress. He goes with everything, everyone," and we are inclined to agree. Pair him with men, women, plant life or scenery, it doesn't matter; he's going to come out on top. This is a beautiful thing, however it's also dangerous. Spike is often Mary Sue-ed in fic. All it takes is a bottle of bourbon and the scent of blood to get blondie bear flat on his back. Too many authors forget that there is a complex person with a fascinating history hiding behind those cheekbones.

Fists and Fangs is here to help remind us all that whether you are a Redemptionista or an Evilista you are a Spike fan. As fans of Spike we have an obligation to keep his character true, which means embracing William, William the Bloody, Evil Spike, Chipped Spike, and Ensouled Spike in equal measure. Never forgetting that all of them live behind those gorgeous blue eyes.
