If I could choose one aspect of writing Spikefic that I had to say is the most important, I'd probably say "dialogue."  He might not be writing poetry anymore, but Spike still uses words for everything- to convince, to comfort, and especially to hurt.  Mastering his use of British slang is helpful, but don't let yourself be fooled into believing that that's enough to master Spikevoice.
